GOVERNMENT MAMIT COLLEGE LIBRARY
The Government Mamit College Library has started functioning since the inception of the college in 1983 starting with a few collections in the beginning. Since then the library has been developing by expanding its collections and introducing present day electronic equipments for better service. The development of library is being monitored by Library Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Principal as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. The library is constructed in an area of 100.33 sq. m. consisting of Students reading room, Teachers reading room, Librarian’s room and transaction room. At present its transaction is carried out by using Library automation with Barcode and shelving location library system. It is the only library which has the facility of shelving location among the college libraries in Mizoram. The library has a small staff comprising of a Librarian, a Library Assistant and a Grade VI.
The Government Mamit College Library is opened on all working days as under:
Summer: 9:30 am - 5;00 pm
Winter: 9:00 am 4:30 pm
The Government Mamit College Library users are divided into three categories such as Student, Teaching Staff and Non-Teaching Staff. The maximum number of books and days permitted to a user varies as follows.
Student - 3 books ( 7 days)
Teaching Staff - 5 books (14 days)
Non-teaching Staff - 3 books (7 days)
Any user defying/violating the rules shall be levied fine accordingly failing which, one shall debar from using the library.

The Government Mamit College Library also provides internet facility. Every user is instructed to strictly adhere to the library guidelines for using Library Internet.
The Government Mamit College has adopted its own rules, which is applicable to all the users for its smooth functioning. The main service of the library is to provide the need of the students, faculty and other staff with a promise “we give the best service to fulfill your necessity as a learner.”
